Sharni Vison, who is an American-born Australian dancer and actress was born 22 July 1983, in Sydney Australia. In 2001, Sharni was cast in two episodes in Australian Soap Opera Home and Away. Her performance in the limited part was so captivating that the casting agent for the show asked her to be cast in the principal roles in the series. But she was rejected from her role. So, in the same episode, Cassie Turner was cast as a troubled teenage child living in a foster care. Both critics and fans alike have praised her role.
